Autograph manuscript, lightly corrected, of an unpublished historical treatise based on Miller's reading at Oxford of Herodotus, Thucydides, Xenophon, Diodorus Siculus, Plutarch, Cornelius Nepos, Quintus Curtius, Justin, and other historians. The history begins with the early heroes Perseus, Theseus, and Hercules, and Mycenean kingdoms of Pelops, Atreus, and Agamemnon, including the Trojan War and Voyage of the Argonauts, through the Persian and Pelopponesian Wars, and the empire of Alexander the Great and his immediate successors. Contains a preface discussing the style and credibility of the quoted Greek historiographers, and an alphabetical index of names.
